Mother's Day is so fun when you have school-age kids, because they all come home with special gifts they've made.
Ashlyn's kindergarten actually invited the mother's to come to their classroom Friday afternoon for a Mother's Day celebration.
We got to sit with them at tables they had decorated, then they showed us all the cards and pictures and gifts they worked on for us. We had a yummy little snack, then they painted our fingernails for us. (I think I fared much better than some of the other kindergarten mothers in terms of Ashlyn's paint job on my nails.)
The pinkish board is a key holder Ashlyn made for me.
The picture she drew of us says "YOUROKMOM", which Russ initially interpreted as "You're OK, Mom", but it's actually "You Rock, Mom".
And here are some excerpts from the book Ashlyn made me:
(Translations: favorite food - spaghetti, best thing - she likes to hug me)
Brenna made me the most adorable little flower pot in preschool - I LOVE it!
Kaylee also filled out a Mother's Day questionnaire in school.
I'm one lucky Mommy, to have such sweet, thoughtful girls
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!
