The evening of Dec. 23rd Brenna had another seizure, so we weren't sure how many of our Christmas Eve plans would work out (it usually takes her a full day to recover from a seizure). She felt a bit out of sorts in the morning, but was back to normal by afternoon.
We went on our traditional grocery store run to pick out our Christmas Eve dinner cereals, made and decorated sugar cookies, delivered some of the cookies to our neighbors, watched "Miracle on 34th Street", ate our cold cereal dinner, acted out the Nativity story, opened new pajamas, drove around to look at Christmas lights, and sent the kiddos off to bed!
Russ looked through pictures from the past 3 Christmas Eves and discovered Marshmallow Mateys has been in the mix every year since we started this family tradition! |
2015 Nativity Cast: Ashlyn as Mary, Brenna as the Angel, McKell as a Shepherd, Kaylee as a Wise(wo)man, and Russ as . . . Joseph. Of course. He's pretty much stuck with that role |
One of the Christmas lessons I learned this year is that 10-year-old girls are no longer interested in matching PJs. Kaylee was, um, less than excited when she opened hers. She warned Ashlyn NOT to tell anyone at school. :) I think they all look adorable though. The 2 pictures below are some of my favorites from the whole season.
Poor Kaylee--soon you'll only have 2 kids who want to match. But the pictures are cute.
