and all the birthday fun it brings to our house. This year was no exception in the category of fun. The girls decided to celebrate together this year ("Because we're sisters!" in Ashlyn's words) - meaning opening presents and doing cakes at the same time.
We let them open their presents for one another on Monday morning
(no surprise they each chose a Barbie/princess to give)
and saved all the rest until after dinner that night.
Both girls requested a "Hello Kitty" cake this year.
(I usually put a little more effort into my cakes, but doing two at the same time is a lot, and I was feeling lazy. The girls still loved them.)
And Brenna loved the chocolate ice cream.
Tuesday brought more fun, with dinner at Wendy's.
(In Ashlyn's case, wandering around Wendy's while listening - or perhaps not listening - to her parents encourage her to eat.)
Then off to the evening's main event: Chuck E. Cheese!
For Ashlyn't 5th and final ride on the horse she decided sitting side-saddle would be most appropriate. (P.S. When she put on her new dress and looked in the mirror that morning she said, "Hmm, I look like . . . a train helper.")
And Kaylee, dressed appropriately in her new "Rock Star" T-shirt, was our little Guitar Hero(ine).
A happy crew headed home after another wonderful year of birthday celebrations.
Wow! They got a lot of loot! I can't believe how grown up they are looking! Gorgeous girls...way to go!
